Abstract
A technique for broadband tuning of helical resonant cavities is described whereby a practically continuous range of operation is achieved from the low-frequency cut-off at 100 MHz or lower to arbitrarily high frequencies in the gigahertz range. A simple design scheme is given, based on introduction of a discontinuity which can be moved along the helical centre conductor. Keywords
