Abstract
We explore the possibility for production of air showers by ultrahigh-energy muons and neutrinos. Such showers must be produced both in the Earth's crust and in the atmosphere. Because of the strong absorption in the Earth the rate of upward-going showers generated by a limiting model of cosmological neutrino flux may be, however, low compared with the background of nearly horizontal muon-generated air showers. Keywords
