Abstract
Some mathematical properties of a simple nonautonomous deterministic growth model are presented. The model describes the lag phase of bacterial growth as an adjustment of the population to a new environment after inoculation. A useful family of ‘adjustment functions’ is considered and some of its mathematical properties are given. Keywords
