Abstract
It is proved explicitly that the classical n‐dimensional isotropic harmonic oscillator is invariant under U (n). Two new examples of higher symmetry are found. One is the n‐dimensional free particle which is shown to be invariant under a semidirect product which contains the n‐dimensional Euclidean group as a proper subgroup. Keywords
