Absorption Spectra of Cuprous Oxide

Abstract
A brief description is given of the procedure of preparing Cu2O and of the results of the study on its absorption spectra. With Cu2O irradiated with gamma rays, we recently found a sharp absorption line at low temperatures. This line proved to coincide with that discovered by Gross, who once interpreted it as the first member of the hydrogen-like absorption lines in the yellow region. A discussion on this absorption line is given.
