Abstract
A racial attitude survey was administered to 308 whites and 147 blacks in the Wichita, Kansas, area. A factor analysis was performed on 19 items, age, sex, and race yielding two specific (sex, genetics) and five common factors: (a) race, (b) relaxed association vs. tense isolation, (c) general racial tension, (d) youthful integration vs. aged segregation, and (e) separationist vs. desegregationist. Keywords
