Abstract
The fine-textured dissection prevalent in New Zealand, as contrasted with the prevailingly coarse-textured landscape form of north-western Europe, is attributed by Mortensen to strong fun-off in winter, when rainfall is relatively high, though not excessive, and evaporation is low. A suggested alternative explanation attributes it to higher rainfall intensity. Keywords
