Abstract
A study was made of the stability at 37[degree]C of crude penicillin from several series of cultures with different initial concs. of KH2PO4 Penicillium notatum 1249.B4 was used in surface culture, and in submerged cultures P. chrysogenum X-1612 and 1984-A. In all solns. the rate of loss of initial antibacterial potency varied inversely with the conc. of KH2PO4 initially present in the culture medium. The effect appeared to be independent of buffering effect on the hydrion conc. of the soln. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
