Abstract
Treatment with Kr87 suppressed gastric acidity in 2 dogs for 3 mos. Balloons at the end of the stomach tube were inflated with the radioactive gas; after 4-7 treatments pH of the gastric secretion increased from 1 to 6. A dose of 2000 rep was given to the first 0.15 cm. of the gastric mucosa. Absorption of beta radiation within the gas is negligible. Kr87 has a half-life of 78 min.; therapeutic amts. are available only in laboratories close to a nuclear reactor. Keywords
