Abstract
Development of comprehension of the lexical and grammatical aspects of language was studied in 159 normal children age 2-10 through 7-9 years. The test instruments permitted the assessment of oral language comprehension without requiring language expression from the child. It consisted of pictures representing referential categories and contrasts which could be signaled by form classes and function words, morphological constructions, grammatical categories and syntactic structure. Main language comprehension scores increased with age. Differences from 3-0 to 4-6 years were significant. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
