Abstract
Es wird eine Übersicht über bisher beschriebene geschlechtsbedingte Unterschiede bei Tagesrhythmen von Insekten gegeben. Die Lebensdauer der Tiere, die Art des Zusammenfindens der Geschlechter und die zeitliche Festlegung geschlechtsspezifischer Verhaltensweisen werden zur Interpretation dieser Unterschiede herangezogen. Sex-dependent differences in diuranl rhythms of insects concerning mainly phase and pattern are reviewed. As possible significant factors in the evolution of such differences are discussed: life span of the species, mode of assembling of both sexes, and temporal determination of sex-specific behaviour.Keywords
