THE INFLUENCE OF PITUITARY GROWTH HORMONE ON THE PHOSPHATASE ACTIVITY OF BONE AND KIDNEY

Abstract
Injection (twice daily for 15-32 days) of anterior pituitary growth hormone into 8 adult $ rats was accompanied by increase in body, bone and kidney weights. The bones and kidneys of the injected rats showed a slightly lower phosphatase activity per unit of weight than those of the corresponding controls, indicating that renewed growth of adult rat bone is not accompanied by an increase in phosphatase activity.
