Abstract
Soluble antigens of the fungus agents occurred in the tissues of mice infected with C. neoformans (Torula histolvtlca) and with S. schenckii. and were readily detectable by tests with appropriate antiserums. As an aid to diagnosis, spinal fluid from cases of suspected cryptococcal meningitis (torulosis) might be subjected to a combination of tests for serol. precipitation upon the supernatant plus Quellung tests on the sediment obtained by centrifugation of the fluid. Keywords
