Abstract
A probabilistic automaton based on competing evolutionary search processes is considered as an on-line real-time adaptive controller for complex plants with multimodal performance index structures that are modified under measurable but uncontrollable random environmental variations. The scheme described includes mechanisms of storage and retrieval to take advantage of control experience gained prior to any current situation. Keywords
