Abstract
An opportunity was presented during cardiac catheterization to study the hemodynamic function of the obstructed right ventricular chamber in a heart with tricuspid stenosis, pulmonary atresia, and an intact ventricular septum. Cineangiocardiograms demonstrated that the anatomically stenotic tricuspid orifice was also a regurgitant orifice and it is postulated that the bidirectional flow of blood associated with the tricuspid regurgitation prevents the obstructed ventricle from becoming obliterated by stasis-thrombosis.Keywords
