Abstract
Heat capacities have been measured from 2 to 12K for ZnS and up to 25K for ZnSe and CdTE. Limiting values of the Debye temperature are theta 0=339K for ZnS, 271K for ZnSe and 161K for CdTe which agree, within experimental error, with those calculated from elastic moduli. Keywords
