Abstract
The liquefied-gas method of dispersing insecticides has been used to apply nicotine in greenhouse fumigations against Myzus persicae. When the nicotine is dispersed in dichlorodifluoromethane only about half as much nicotine is required to kill the aphids as when it is applied as a constituent of a combustible powder, a prepn. widely used in commercial greenhouses. At the dosages used the liquefied-gas method also gave more uniform results in numerous replicated tests. No fire hazard is involved. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
