Fecundity, Fertility, and Longevity of DDT‐Resistant and Susceptible Populations of Drosophila Melanogaster

Abstract
The fecundity, fertility, and longevity of three DDT—resistant populations have been compared with these traits in their corresponding controls. The controls usually showed higher fecundity and fertility, but the resistant flies had a longer life span. These differences are interpreted in terms of the differing selection pressures that have existed in the two kinds of populations.
