On the smallest of several correlated F statistics

Abstract
This paper deals with the statistic Y which is the smallest of p correlated F statistics, each of which has the same chi-square in the denominator and such that all ( p +1) chi-squares are independent. Exact expressions, as well as approximations and bounds, for computing the probability integral, the percentage points and the moments of the statistic Y are derived. Tables of the percentage points and moments are given for the special case when all the degrees of freedom of the ( p + 1) chi-squares have a common value, which is an even integer.
