Abstract
By means of immuno-precipitation in a gel medium, according to the technique of Ouchterlony, it has been shown that an extract of rat kidney gives at least 7 precipitation bands with its homologous duck anti-serum. Rat kidney and lung extracts, diffusing against duck anti-rat-kidney serum in the same plate, gave bundles of precipitation lines that join, forming typical "reactions of identity". Rat lung extract incorporated in the gel inhibited all the reactions between kidney extract and rabbit anti-rat-kidney serum. The results are such as to indicate that the chief diffusible antigenic components of kidney and lung tissues of the rat were identical. Keywords
