Abstract
Cases are presented illustrating a state of unresponsiveness to thiamin and niacin. Manifestations of neuropathy and of pellagra appeared and progressed even though the patients were receiving adequate doses of thiamin and niacin. We suggest that this unresponsiveness may be related to a deficiency of cofactors necessary for the effective utilization of these vitamins by the tissues. Keywords
