Abstract
It has been proposed that the magnetic moment of the W boson can be measured by studying the amplitude zeros which occur in certain angular distributions in the reaction pp¯→γlν¯X. We consider in detail the effect of the width and transverse motion of the W boson on variables which have been proposed in the literature to exhibit the amplitude zeros. We find that the distribution in the angle between the photon and the charged lepton can be used to estimate the magnetic moment of the W. Realistic angular distributions and event rates are presented for future experiments. Keywords
