Abstract
Acute, chronic, and recurrent urinary tract infections can be best dealt with once it is recognized that the nature of the problem often depends on the source of the bacteriuria. Is infection confined to the bladder or does it involve the renal parenchyma? A simple immunofluorescence test can localize the anatomic site of infection, providing a practical basis for rational therapy. Keywords
