Abstract
A crystalline m-toluidine salt derivative of biotin was prepared and the sulfocaproic acid obtained from biotin was identified as the optically active a-isopropyl-[beta]-sulfopropionic acid. In the study of the constitution of biotin, 390 rag. crystalline biotin methyl ester were prepared from 2800 kg. Chinese dried egg yolks. Biotin obtained from egg yolk should be called a-biotin, and that from liver, B-biotin, since the 2 compounds do not seem to be identical. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
