Abstract
The host-parasite relationship between Fusarium sp. and S. phaeospora, a biotrophic contact mycoparasite, was studied using both light and EM. The mode of parasitism as well as features of the host-parasite interface were determined to be similar to those previously reported for the Alternaria tenuis-Gonatobotrys simplex interaction. Plasmodesmata, 24-28 nm in diameter traversed the interface between the 2 fungi. Virus-like particles, 40-47 mn in diameter were observed only in nuclei of S. phaeospora.
