Abstract
Non-hypophysectomized tadpoles proved as satisfactory as hypophysectomized frogs for assay of ACTH melanophore activity. The accuracy of the method is [plus or minus]29% (actual deviation). Sensitivity increases with prolonged exposure to light. The test is unaffected by the osmotic pressure of the injn. test substance, and by the pH. Methods of handling the tadpoles are discussed. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
