Abstract
The large dsDNA algal virus, PBCV-1, replicates in UV-irradiated Chlorella, albeit more slowly and with a smaller burst size than in untreated Chlorella. Irradiated cells are unable to form colonies, and endogenous RNA and DNA synthesis are reduced to background levels. Thus a fully function host nucleus is not required for PBCV-1 replication. Keywords
