The relation of free meander geometry to stream discharge and its geomorphic implications

Abstract
The wave length of free meanders is related to stream discharge. The dominant discharge controlling the wave length is a range of flows, possibly of falling stages, between the mean discharge for the month of maximum discharge and the mean annual discharge. Length of slope may also affect wave length.
