Abstract
Toxoptera graminum, caused least damage to wheat when early control measures were taken. An average infestation of 100 greenbugs/ft. caused a reduction of from 2.1 to 4.6 lb. of grain/acre/day. Daily reduction in yield/greenbug/ft. when Wintok, Andrew and Cimarron oats were infested under similar conditions were .98, .16 and .40 lb. respectively. Cimarron oats showed a remarkable ability to recover if the greenbug infestation was controlled before the plants were killed. In the 2 barley varieties tested (Ward and Tenkow) the reduction/greenbug/ft. of row averaged more than a half lb./day. Even light infestations caused a marked reduction in yield. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
