Abstract
The authors of this response believe that problem-oriented significance for archaeological sites can be accommodated within the existing National Register criterion. In addition, the authors feel that closer relationships between the archaeological community, federal agencies, and the State Historic Preservation Officers will result in the preservation of archaeological sites. Keywords
