Diuretic Radionuclide Methods for Investigating Hydroureteronephrosis

Abstract
Diuretic radionucldie [99Tc-labeled diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid] urography fills an obvious void in the urologist''s armamentarium as a safe, rapid and non-invasive technique for distinguishing obstructive hydronephrosis from nonobstructive dilation. The usefulness was confirmed and the applicability of the technique, not only for preoperative investigation of diverse [human] urologic conditions, but as a tool for evaluating the functional significance of postoperative hydronephrosis, was illustrated.
