Abstract
Nanoneurology, i.e., the application of nanobiotechnology in neurology, will have an impact by improving our understanding, diagnosis, and development of new therapies for nervous system disorders. This review describes some of the interrelationships between various technologies and their applications. Nanoparticles can not only help in the discovery of biomarkers and refinement of diagnosis but also form the basis of new drugs for neurological disorders and provide methods for their delivery across the blood-brain barrier. Nanotechnology-based implants may facilitate regeneration in the nervous system, and nanorobots, femtolasers, and nanotechnology-based devices will refine neurosurgery.
