Abstract
This enzyme catalyses the oxidation of reduced coenzymes I or II by hydrogen acceptors such as flavin, cytochrome, adrenochrome etc. Coenzyme dehydrogenases from animal tissues are shown to take part only in the reaction between the substrate and the coenzyme. In absence of coenzyme factor no reaction with O via carriers is possible. Flacoprotein has < 1/1000 the activity of the factor in coenzyme I systems. A system in which the substrates of coenzyme dehydrogenases are oxidized by way of cytochromes [alpha] and [beta] is reconstructed from natural components. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
