Abstract
A systematic error has been discovered in the calculation of the protein N values of Bryophyllum leaves published in 2 recent papers (Plant Physiol. 22: 306-376,477-493. 1947). The erroneous values suggested that protein N, and accordingly also soluble N, undergo diurnal variation. The correctly computed values show that this is not so. Correct values for the protein N and soluble N of the leaves are given and the previously published data, together with all statements concerning diurnal variation of protein in Bryophyllum leaves, are withdrawn. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
