Abstract
Summary: A novel ovine αs2-casein variant has been detected using discontinuons polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis at alkaline pH, two dimensional electrophoresis and immunoblotting. It is characterized by a greater negative net charge and a lower isoelectric point compared with the most common ovine αs2-casein variant. The phenotypic frequency in the Manchega breed is 5·5%.Keywords
