Abstract
In a 69‐year‐old man with severe tetanus, sympatho‐adrenal overactivity was successfully treated with a lumbar epidural block. Cardiovascular disturbances were reduced and fluctuations in plasma catecholamines were decreased. The duration of other manifestations of tetanus was, however, not influenced by the epidural block in this case. Keywords
