Abstract
This paper discusses three points relevant to methodological aspects of preventive or intervention trials in ischaemic heart disease: (i) the selection of an appropriate population group; (ii) changes in risk factor levels; and (iii) an approach to evaluate intervention programmes. Some preliminary findings are presented from a feasibility study in Zagreb, Yugoslavia, where the risk factors were blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose tolerance and the Intervention measure was drug treatment. An attempt to construct a general evaluation model is also described without any supportive findings. Keywords
