Abstract
The Thorne-Enskog theory for the viscosity of dense hard-sphere mixtures is analysed for a dilute suspension of macromolecules. The resulting equation, analogous to the Einstein viscosity equation, shows a dependance of intrinsic viscosity on molecular size which is in accord with observed experimental findings. Keywords
