Abstract
Introduction In a previous paper,1 one of us (W. K. B.) reviewed a large series of consecutive ovarian neoplasms occurring in a large general hospital. The pertinent data concerning the distribution of types of neoplasms, their clinical and pathological features, and their clinical behavior were summarized. We continued this study by reviewing a large series of consecutive ovarian tumors surgically treated in two hospitals for the period July 1, 1946, to Dec. 31, 1956. One of these hospitals, the Los Angeles County Hospital, is a very large charity hospital in which the population tends to be in the older age groups; the other, Mercy Hospital in San Diego, is a large private hospital with a somewhat younger general population. A statistical and pathological review of the entire series will be presented in a separate communication.
