Abstract
A cellular array is described which has the property of multiplying two binary numbers, and also of adding either one or two other numbers. The array can be extended to any number of bits. It is proposed that this array might be considered as a full multiplier, analogous to a full adder. Some applications of the array are mentioned. These include the synthesis of a quadratic equation, extracting a square root and obtaining a reciprocal of a binary number.
