Abstract
A procedure proposed by Ivanov, Klimanek and Skakov for the quantitative estimation of X‐ray extinction in crystals containing randomly distributed dislocations is established without restriction concerning the defect density on the basis of stochastic geometry. The dependence of the extinction coefficient of a X‐ray diffraction peak obtained in this way agrees very well with experimental observations. Keywords
