Abstract
The sequence of repair in bone tissue and mucosa is similar both to magnetic and non-magnetic alloys of platinum 76.5% and cobalt 23.5%. Histologic examination of bone and mucoperiosteum of the mandible at the implant site were made at intervals of 1, 2, 3, 9 days, 1, 2, 3, and 6 mo. The cells of origin for the formation of fibroblasts, osteoblasts, osteoclasts, and new capillaries were seen to arise from the loose connective tissue of the bone marrow, Haversian canals and periosteum. A fibrous capsule forms around the implant within one month. These results suggest that magnetic implants may safely be implanted in bone as they may be employed in denture prosthesis. Keywords
