Abstract
It is shown that the large class of exchange currents in electron-nucleus elastic scattering compensates the effects of deviation from the mass shell in the nucleon form factor. The approximation which utilizes this compensation and which minimizes the first order corrections is derived. The -nucleus amplitude is found to be factorized in this approximation into an on-shell scattering amplitude and a nuclear body form factor.
