Abstract
Multiple replicate units of stock cultures of certain bacteria and yeasts can be prepared, stored, and retrieved for use with a minimum of effort. The method involves the coating of sterile glass beads with a mixture of equal parts of broth culture and horse blood, and storage of the coated beads in a single, labeled, plastic tube in a mechanical freezer.
