Abstract
A synthesis of α, β‐substituted butenolides and of α, β‐substituted γ‐butyrolactones, starting from 1, 3‐dihydroxyacetone and a number of N‐acylglycines, by an Erlenmeyer condensation is described. The scope and limitations of the condensation were studied.Funding Information
