Abstract
In each of 4 groups of White Leghorn cockerels (128 birds) reared in 4 different environments, length X height was more highly correlated with the wt. of the comb than was length, height, length + height, or V length X height. The last two of these measures are not significantly poorer estimates of comb size than is length X height. However, in the interest of uniformity and to facilitate comparisons between the results obtained by different investigators, future studies in which wt. of the comb cannot be obtained, should use that measure of comb size most highly correlated with its wt., i.e., length X height. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
