Preparation of BiSrCaCu2Ox Films with Tc>77 K by Pyrolysis of Organic Acid Salts

Abstract
High-T c superconducting BiSrCaCu2O x films with T c(end)>77 K were prepared on yttria-stabilized zirconia substrates by pyrolysis using Bi-, Sr-, Ca- and Cu-2-ethylhexanoates. The observed T c(onset) and T c(end) were 97 K and 79 K, respectively, and thus T c(end) is higher than liquid nitrogen temperature. From X-ray diffraction patterns of these films, the superconducting crystal phase is mostly characterized by the c-axis perpendicular to the substrate.
