Abstract
At autopsy we encountered a large abscess of the interatrial septum as a complication of acute vegetative and ulcerative endocarditis, which was probably bacterial. The abscess was connected by a fistula to the aorta and furthermore had ruptured into the left atrium. A search of the literature failed to disclose a similar lesion. Keywords
