Continuous Coulometric Analysis of Chlorine Bleach Solutions

Abstract
An experimental coulometric system was devised for continuously and automatically titrating chlorine bleach solutions ranging in concentration from 20 ppm up to about 3%. The titrating reagent was produced cathodically, and the coulometric cell current at equivalence was a measure of concentration. The special cell construction provided about ±1% measurement accuracy throughout the concentration range. Difficulties in holding the titration solution at the required condition of equivalence were met by means of a function‐generating circuit in the automatic control system.
