$CP$ Nonconservation in the Partial Decay Rates of Charm and Beauty Mesons

Abstract

The partial rate differences between particle and antiparticle decaying into their corresponding

CP

-conjugate states for the charm and beauty mesons

F^{\pm}

,

D^{\pm}

,

{B_{u}}^{\pm}

, and

{B_{c}}^{\pm}

are estimated. Some decays have appreciable partial rate differences, notably

B_{u}^{-} \to π^{0} K^{-}

,

D^{-} D^{0 *}

and

B_{c}^{-} \to K^{-} {\overset{―}{D}}^{0}

,

π^{-} {\overset{―}{D}}^{0}

,

π^{0} D^{-}

. The uncertainties involved in such analysis are discussed.
